Here is my random boxing thoughts. i will do this on a weekly basis for you boxing fans.
What did every one think of Cornelus lock's win over Gonzales?
well i thought it was not only a very good fight, but was filled with drama, and Espn has been showing some good upsets as of late.
what about this weekends fights, Ward/Ravello Berto/ Rodriguez?
well me personally, i think this is a very interesting fight for Ward. Not only has he been moved wrather slowly, and has some questions to answer once he's hit on the chin, but being an olympic gold medalist the only one since 1992's David Reid.
Does he excite anyone anymore? What about ravello? a huge puncher who seems very confident coming in can he do it? will he get a fair shake if it goes to the cards?
And what about the lightweight division? what a great division ruled by Nate Campbell,(i will give respect where its do) I feel some what bad for my friend Campbell because he's avoided like the plague, and all these mega names are going around him, its a dirty game. Something good will happen though.
Katsidis vs juan Diaz(fire works) Casamayor vs juan manual marquez,(ppv?) and from what i hear THE CHAMPION Campbell vs Joan Guzman, (wow! )some stellar match ups guys. This division is so loaded that i have decided to come back down to my lightweight roots, and compete in this stellar division.
Although i have been tangling with much bigger game like Oscar De la hoya at 150lbs(jr middleweight) and fought hard with no fear. I was fighting before that at 140lbs. And was champion at 130lbs. Now i thought about going back to 140lbs ,where i beat francisco(panchito) Bojado, and whooped up Demetrius Hopkins before that. you all know i looked really good in that one, even though i was handed one of the worst decisions in the past 20years. (robbed)Anyhow there are no stars tat that weight besides Ricky Hatton, who will tangle with the other name fighter there, Paulie mallignaggie.
So i decided since i pride myself on lessons taught from the fighters of yester year, who fought any and everybody, jumped up jumped down, just to give the fans great fights. I said to myself i wanna follow that example, so Forbes will be a lightweight. Its a lot of great and talented fighters in the lightweight division .
Since ive been a man amongst giants fighting all these bigger guys, and showing good skills, i thought i should get in where i fit in, with guys my own size and see what come of it.
Talk to you guys & gals next week.
